New API Tokens for Habits and To-Dos

API stands for Application Programmable Interface, and it's a common way that websites and software are set up so that external websites and software can access their content. With the rise of AI assistants, those who want to give permission to AI bots to access their habits and to-dos in a secure way, are now able to.

Premium users can now generate private API tokens for either their habits or to-dos, using these tokens give permission to external websites and software to manage their habits or to-dos.

What users can do with a Habits token:

  • See all habits due today, filterable by what's completed and what's still remaining
  • Check off any yes/no habits, add progress for numeric habits, and start/stop timers for time-tracked habits
  • Customizable permissions for what the token has access to such as public/private only, etc.

What users can do with a To-Dos token:

  • See all to-dos, filterable by completed and due, including subtasks and all their metadata (due dates, notes, etc)
  • Complete any to-do
  • Customizable permissions for what the token has access to such as public/private only, etc.

The documentation for using these API Tokens can be accessed here: https://ayearago.today/settings/api-tokens/docs/#token-management
