august art log

Themes for the month: Sci-fi (from the art server) and deserts (from LMA). A good duo. I’m skipping the medium of the month, since graphite pencil doesn’t interest me.

  • Aug 1: Watercolor of a world tree extending far into space, with planets and UFOs in the background. For the bad g1 topic (chartreuse/chartreuse/fog).
  • Aug 2: Ink-and-wash of desert planet outposts. Several small planets with large cacti buildings, plus UFOs and a rocket.
  • Aug 3: Marker sketch of a pumpkin in blue; pen sketch of mushrooms & pumpkins.
  • Aug 4: Meeting sketch in pen. A multistory bottle house with trees and various foliage growing nearby.
  • Aug 5: Watercolor of a peach tree branch. Based on a Sarah Cray video.
  • Aug 6: Watercolor of a peach tree branch in impressionist style. Blue sky, multicolored clouds, heavy use of BPW and layered brushstrokes for the clouds and peaches.
