i wonder why everyone uses mechanical pencils now. it used to be wood pencils but since 3rd grade they've been using mechanical pencils ever since. one of my old teachers even threatened to ban it for some reason. mechanical pencils aren't bad, since instead of getting a new pencil every time you can just buy a pack of lead to refill it. However, real pencils use charcoal, which is easier to smudge for sketches and drawings.

I like real pencils. When I write/draw, I slightly rotate my pencil so I'm using the sharpest edge at all times. However with mechanical pencils, the lead rotates around to the blunt side which is annoying.

@Achaius yep!!! that's why I only use mechanical pencils to write and real pencils to draw
