in which the information department is a continuous tire fire

HGR’s commentary: “In this game, all plants are fuckers.”

To back up a bit:

On day 6, my abnormality was Grave of Cherry Blossoms, who, as discussed, is kind of an asshole. He’s workable though. Employees get hypnotized, you spamclick them, they become un-hypnotized, life goes on. I expect he’ll become more annoying as I get more departments, and as more things are happening at once, but for now it’s fine. Also he’s got a nice fat Q-counter of 3.

On day 7, my practice of picking the most chuu2 edgelord quotes finally screwed me over. There was a quote about a spinning roulette and desperation and it reminded me of Kinzo, so I took it. That’s how I wound up with Nameless Fetus in my facility.

  • Qliphoth counter: 1
  • Getting anything less than a good result has a chance to lower the counter. (My most buff employee can occasionally get good results.)
  • At 0, the baby starts wailing, continuously damaging employees and lowering the Q-counters of nearby abnormalities. The only way to stop it is to work with it, which spins a roulette among all employees and clerks in the department. The chosen person walks to the containment unit and is devoured by the baby.

Why does EVERYONE in this facility want to hypnotize and devour my employees??

IT’S MEMORY REPOSITORY TIME

(I do think it’s hilarious how I got Grave/Fetus back to back, since they’re basically the same concept except Fetus is 10x worse)

Anyway, take two. Grave of Cherry Blossoms is LOCKED IN (I sure am glad I didn’t pick fetus on day 6). For day 7 v2, I got the Warm-Hearted Woodsman and managed to avoid any deaths by sheer dumb luck.

  • Qliphoth counter: 1
  • Getting a bad result OR sending in an employee with 3+ temperance lowers the counter.
  • When the counter hits 0, the next time you send in an employee, the Woodsman will rip their heart out of their chest, killing them instantly, and then breach.

It turns out that Reinhardt, champion of the world, who took point on the new abnormality, has exactly 2 temperance. So I avoided tripping the counter until I learned all about it. Eventually Reinhardt got a bad result and I just ignored the Woodsman for the rest of the day. Good stuff.

On day 8, I still haven’t learned my lesson about quotes, so I picked the one about exploding heads and got a big flower. (This is what prompted HGR’s comment about plants.) For this dude, if you get a good result and the employee’s temperance is less than four, the flower beheads the employee at the end of the work. Trust game! The flower puts its thorns on your head! Haha!

the sheer anti-synergy with woodsman lmaooo

(I have no employees with 4 temperance. Knox, Reinhardt’s sidekick, has 3, so I might be able to bump her up with LOB. I think if I get her up to 4, the flower might be a safe casual free farm [for her only], which is good because I don’t yet have any of those in the information department.)
